AORVA update

07-08-2017

Your AORVA team operate with a constant feeling that we would love to tell our members more about the great progress we are making toward achieving Recreational Registration with each Government Department that we are working with.

The reality is that the years of hard work put in so far don’t equate to much until we can announce a break through.

Mountains of work has been done and so many stages of different Government Department process are completed.  But pushing the slow wheels of Government for increased recreational ORV access to Public Land is a slow task.  The bureaucratic processes are long and painful but AORVA feel like we are 90% of the way there.

One great thing we have noticed, is the efforts that some of our members are making to help the cause.  On occasions, when in discussion with a Minister or other Government Official, we hear the comment that “yes, I received a similar request across my desk just last week”.  These constant little reminders definitely help.  They keep our topic current and reinforce the requirement.  In drawn out Government processes, it really does help that our decision makers get little reminders of our reasonable request every now and then.

So a big thank you to those of you that have contacted your local representative and reinforced our request for reasonable recreational ORV access to public land.  Please keep up the good work.

You will find letter templates on our “WANT TO RIDE” page.

Download the simple “Have Your Say” letter templates, fill out as desired and send them off.

What we can tell you is that we have some great irons in the fire and our request for improved access is at least being taken very seriously.  We believe in what we are asking for and it is clearly reasonable.  AORVA has some very solid work in consideration right now and we look forward to next steps in QLD, Victoria and SA very soon.

In the meantime, thank you all very much for your membership and support.  People power does make a difference when dealing with Government, so please continue to get all your friends to join AORVA.
